Last week I was very inspired by a post from Peanut Butter Fingers, one of my favorite blogs. The title of her post was Changing “Yes But” to “Yes And.”
You know that saying, “You are what you eat?” Well…I believe “You are what you say.”
Do you find yourself always using phrases like
All these phrases have one thing in common- They are excuses.
If your statements are indecisive then you will not show accountability. You will lose productivity and your attitude will go down the drain with all the negative talk.
I took Julie’s (from http://www.pbfingers.com/) advice and at work, at home and at the gym I starting turning my “Yes buts” into “Yes ands.”
Work- “Yes, this project looks difficult to complete and lets talk about the most important features to your business.”
Home- “Yes, I can help you with that and I am going to finish putting away the laundry right now.”
Gym- “I will complete a long run in the morning and I have 60 minutes to do it.”
Positive statements will increase productivity, boost your attitude and make you look like a rock star.
Everything is a mental game. Whether you are working out, working at the office or working on a relationship, your mind is in complete control. Your body will do what you tell it. Don’t discourage it. PUMP it UP!
