I LOVE the lip stain. It colors your lips without making them feel sticky. It is a really pretty pink rose color. I didn’t even know there was a such thing as “lip stain.” And that is why I subscribed to Birchbox

The Simple Things Make Me Smile

Over the last few days I have really been paying more attention to the simple things that bring a smile to my face. With that said, this post is going to be simple.

Here is a short list of my happy things this week.

1. Running outside in the mornings, before work, in the warm sun. LOVE!

2. Quinoa Salad with steamed vegetables, chick peas, fresh cilantro and lemon zest. Simple, healthy food always makes me feel good!

3. Twistband Hair Ties. I LOVE these new hair ties I bought from Birchbox. They do not get stuck in my hair, look great and keep my hair up.

4. New Lamp from Target that was on clearance for 50% off. Exactly what I was looking for to accent our sun room!

5. Adam picked up fresh strawberries for a local farmer on his way home from work. They pop in your mouth and are absolutely delicious!

Don’t forget to stop and think about your simple list of happy things!

May Birchbox Arrived

My second Birchbox came in the mail!

The theme of this month’s Birchbox is Gossip Girl. I have to admit the only thing I know about Gossip Girl is that it’s some TV show…that’s it.

These are some of the exciting things that came in the box:

A Note Card

My two favorites are the nail polish and note card. I am a nail polish freak and almost always have my fingers and toes painted. As far at the note card goes, I love sending random cards and notes to my family & friends. Those simple, little things you do for people always mean the most (never forget about them).

I have to admit, I am not really a makeup kind of girl. Of course I wear makeup but I am not that girl who gets crazy excited about walking down the cosmetic isle. I am not sure if a Birchbox subscription is totally for me but it’s only my second box. It is definitely a fun surprise I get to have every month! And is it something special I get to have to myself.

Two Monday Surprises

I was pleasantly surprised to see two packages on my kitchen counter when I arrived home from work this evening.

My very first Birchbox came in the mail today along with another running surprise! My new Pro Compression socks!!!

Both of these girls have great blogs that are very different and very inspirational!

First, lets talk about my Birchbox package!

I subscribed to a 12 month Birchbox subscription. Every month I will receive a package of sample beauty and health products. For just $110 a year I will get 12 packages delivered straight to my house with high end products to try. For only about $9.17/month I thought it would be a fun little surprise to look forward to each month.

I am most excited about the nail polish and Juicy perfume. I always have my nails polished and I love this spring’s bright colors. This month’s color was Age of Aquarius. It is a bright turquoise/minty color that is going to be really fun to wear this spring and fall.

I love carrying small sample perfumes in my purse. You never know when you are going to need a little spritzing to freshen up.

The skincare products are going to be interesting to try. I am not much of a face wash/moisturizer person. I do wash my face! Just not with expensive products.

Such a fun little box. I think I am really going to enjoy getting these each month. Thanks for the recommendation Kate!

Next the Socks!

Of course I got hot pink!

I discovered these socks from Skinny Runner’s blog when she posted a $20 off coupon. I always wanted a pair of compression socks for running and recovering. With a $20 off coupon I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try them out. These types of socks can run for $60.00 a pair or more. Mine were only $30.00 with free shipping.
