Motivation to a Sweet Life for a Sweet Tooth Runner
Header

Here are a few pictures from the 2012 TC Marathon. The first picture is a shot of the front runners at the very start of the race. Don’t they look strong?!

Thanks to Instagram, I was able to capture this beautiful fall picture. This is around mile 17. I loved being a spectator this race! I really had no desire to run a marathon this year and I didn’t have one ounce of jealousy in my body. I think that is a sign that I needed a metal break from long races.

I am sure most of you heard people say, “listen to your body.” Well, you also have to listen to your head because sometimes you can get caught up in life and you need a little space to breathe. If you continue to train, workout and stay in shape, your body will be there when your mind is ready.

This weekend I am going back home to Green Bay to run in the Green Bay Cellcom Half Marathon.

I have not been too serious about this half marathon. I’ve ran a few longer runs but definitely have not followed a strict training schedule. And I am okay with that. I plan on going into the race with a good attitude, fresh legs and the mind set that I want to run for fun. Having ran probably a dozen half marathons before (not including training runs) I know what to expect and I am not looking to kill myself on this one.

My best friend, Jenna, is running the Full Marathon. She is a marathon veteran and has ran several before. I am so excited to cheer her on. I think I am more excited about the cheering part than the actual running part.

This is me and Jenna on my wedding day. She was the greatest MOH (maid of honor).

The race takes place around Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers! Go Pack Go.

The weather, for the race on Sunday…is looking a little hot, especially for May in Green Bay.

Either way- ran or shine, hot or cold- it’s going to be a fun day. My family and friends are all going to be there to cheer me on!

Here’s to fun runnin!

This is me and Amy after the Twin Cities Marathon 2010

This weekend my sister-in-law Amy Rose (who used to be a Amy Schmidt) is the new manager of a Lululemon showroom in Spokane, WA. This is the exciting news I wanted to share with you!

I fell in love with Lululemon after Amy took me to the store at the Mall of America. This isn’t your ordinary retail store. There are no pressuring sales people, no huge discount prices or messy dressing rooms. Instead, the store is loaded with fun, passionate and outgoing people. The walls are covered with motivational decor and slogans. Lululemon is a company who promotes/sells healthy, balanced lifestyles and technical clothing for yoga and running.

Every time I walk into a Lululemon store I feel inspired. It is very refreshing.

Two things I love about the company are:

1. The Intense Goal Setting

2. The Practical Clothing

Lululemon is an inspirational company that puts so much energy towards training, mentoring and supporting their people. It is much more than a retail store. They focus on goal setting and accountability. I don’t know about you but I don’t think Macy’s or Nike put that much attention towards personal development.

Lululemon’s apparel is functional, durable, reliable and cute! There are a ton of key features within every piece of apparel. To name a few of my favs-

  1. thumbholes- keep distracting sleeves under the thumb
  2. zipper garage- to prevent chin/neck scratches
  3. the zippers are actually hair ties. Perfect when I forget!
  4. chafe-resistant flat seams
  5. preshrunk material

Amy and I both share a deep passion for exercise and healthy living. She is an amazing sister-in-law and someone I look up to. I could not be more excited for her and the new role she is pursuing with Lululemon! I can’t even image all the awesome things she is going to accomplish. So excited to visit her in July!

The grand opening of the Lululemon Spokane, WA showroom is TODAY at 10:00AM. If you are living in the Spokane, Washington area don’t forget to stop in and say hi to Amy and her team. You can find them at:

To celebrate for Amy, I accomplished a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) Class this morning and I am toasting with a peanut butter protein shake.

Happy Friday and Congrats Amy Rose!

Amy Schmidt :)
